Hotel Isabel Tenerife
... a Small Town in the Shape of a Hotel

Hotel Isabel Tenerife is highly recommended for those who want to spend their holidays as a family or with friends. The style which inspired the architecture of the hotel is as if it were a small Canary Island town, with avenues, streets, squares and monuments typical of any island town (like churches and picturesque houses, for example).

Tenerife Travel Secret

Hotel Isabel Tenerife is a welcoming, modern (it opened in 2001), aesthetically very pretty hotel, as the exterior of the hotel is reminiscent of a stately home in any of the northern towns on the island of Tenerife and it has the extraordinary extra of being in the centre of Costa Adeje, just 600m from the Fanabe Beach.

The hotel spreads over 38,000 square metres and has 384 apartments, bungalows and villas in total.

You can stay in its apartments, bungalows or villas on as bed and breakfast, half-board or accommodation only.

On a high tower (like the tower of a traditional church) in the Plaza Canaria there is a stage where the entertainment shows for the guests are put on.

Tenerife Travel Secret

The realistic and careful details which this family complex has caught our attention, as the names of the streets, squares and avenues have a lot to do with the culture, flora and geography of Tenerife and the Canary Islands. For example, you will find the Plaza de las Palmeras which connects to the Rambla de las Palmeras; the Avenida Adeje or La Hacienda; the streets names Isora, Güimar, Fuerteventura or Lanzarote; and the Subida de San Miguel or Bajada del Agua at the right gradient.

The Hotel Isabel Tenerife offers a laundry service, which is mainly useful for those guests who stay for a few weeks.

For children aged 4 to 12, fun is constant at the Mini Club which is managed by the Solino group. There are activities thought up exclusively for children, like a ball pit, structures to be climbed and a big bouncy castle outside, among other children’s amusements. There is a bathroom area and children’s toilet, appropriate for their size.

There are also exercise bikes groups near the tennis court and the beach volleyball court, all to keep you in shape.

The adult swimming pool of the Hotel Isabel Tenerife is in the Plaza Atlántica. The pool has ramp access for those with reduced mobility. The hammocks, lilos and parasols are exclusively for use by the guests of Hotel Isabel and are free.

The children’s pool (which is heated all year round) is in the Plaza Aguachica, a name which really hits the mark because the pool is exclusively for children who are ‘chico’ – young. Near the pool there is a large area for children to enjoy with a structure which is reminiscent of a pirate ship to be climbed, where children can look out at the horizon and slide down.

In the same place you will find a beautiful constructions which represents a church, which is usually occupied by a tour operator group.

Restaurants and Bars at the Hotel Isabel Tenerife

The restaurant is very charming and its architecture reminds you of the interior of a medieval castle with its wooden beams and high ceilings. It has different areas within it and they serve food from a buffet. There is also live cooking. At dinner you should dress formally. If you have any food allergies or dietary requirements, the hotel recommends that you contact them in advance of arriving so that they can offer you a service to meet your expectations.

The pool bar-restaurant is open all year until 6pm, and you can order small à la carte dishes to enjoy by the pool and on the terrace.

The Lounge Bar is usually used in winter. The temperature during the day is perfect to enjoy a swim in the pool, but at night it is a bit fresher and sometimes it is better to be inside. For that reason the Lounge Bar is the ideal place to enjoy the shows in the company of other guests. If you are a smoker, the Tacoronte Bar (located on the terrace) is the perfect place to spend your evening.

The architecture of the Tacoronte Bar is unequivocally from the Canary Islands. A beautiful balcony, over areas with trellises, will make you feel like you are staying in one of the stately homes on the north of the island. It is suitable for smokers and non-smokers who want to sit and relax at any point during the day. From the terrace in the Tacoronte Bar you will be able to see (from above) what is going on in the Plaza Canaria. It is easily connected with the reception area.

Final Comments from the Authors

The truth is that, of all of the hotels which we have visited in Tenerife (and there have been a lot), the Hotel Isabel Tenerife is one of the ones we have liked the most and which was the most different. It is a hotel which is flexible and adapts itself to tourists’ different budgets, it is well located in the Costa Adeje area and the spaciousness of the land where it is located makes it a very pleasant, calm place to spend long holidays.

At Tenerife Travel Secrets we know that, given everything that the hotel offers, it will be hard to want to leave it and go out, but we recommend that you take a day to at least visit Las Cañadas del Teide or a town in the north where you will be able to see where the Hotel Isabel has taken its architectural inspiration from.

Enjoy some unforgettable holidays!
